The Karen Blixen Camp is situated in southern Kenya on the north-western border of the stunning reserve of Masai Mara, Kenya.

The Masai Mara Reserve is situated in the Koiyaki Lemek Conservation area. The Karen Blixen Camp is located on the banks of the Mara River on 66 acres of private land leased from a Masai landlord. Ideally situated, the camp in Masai Mara, Kenya, is nestled between the great Mara plains in the back and the spectacular escarpment and Mara River in the front. The river runs the length of the property and provides a stable source of thirsty game throughout the day. Guests can watch Zebra, Impala, Elephant and Giraffe to name a few.
The Camp is easily accessible either by one of the regularly scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport, Samburu, Lewa Downs and Nanyuki or by a short private charter flight. The 2 nearest airstrips are Musaira/Kichwa Tembo, which is about a 40 minute drive from the camp, and Mara Safari Club which is about an hour’s drive from the camp. Both are serviced twice daily by scheduled flights from Wilson Airport.
Guests wishing to visit Karen Blixen Camp in Masai Mara, Kenya, from the coast can do so via Mombasa Air which operates daily flights into the nearby airstrips. Transfers to and from the nearby airstrips can be arranged prior to arrival at the Camp. Picnic lunches can be provides for guests who wish to explore the Mara on first arrival after checking into the camp. The camp is also accessible by road. The drive from Nairobi takes about 6 hours during the dry season and 7 to 8 hours during the green season.
