The Laikipia plateau stretches from the foothills of the Aberdares, across vast open plains to the Northern Frontier District and the Mathews Range.

    The region nurtures exceptional wildlife and cultural diversity, home to many communities including the Laikipiak Maasai and the Samburu tribes. Around Sabuk Lodge the area is wild and hilly, with dense acacia bush, Greater Kudu, Reticulated Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Elephant, Klipspringer, Zebra, Eland, DikDik, Waterbuck, Lion, Leopard, great bird watching and incredible scenery.
